Optimising your supply chain

Supply chain is a challenging environment and some of these challenges are worldwide changes, which could be long lasting: natural resources, people, geo-politics, etc. The challenges are not what shape our supply chain, but more what prevent us from looking at the supply chain as we once did. This requires creative and sometimes outside-the-box solutions. These solutions also allow us to look deeper and reach for environmental and sustainable solutions to create a new and improved supply chain.
We offer bespoke procurement and specialised facilities and continually invest and develop. Over recent months we have expanded our warehousing space, cold storage facilities and supply chain services.
With fully (MHRA) licensed sites, we are set to optimise your supply chain. Our complete service for the global transportation of pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, vitamin, API and semi-assembled pharmaceutical products, offers a wide range of temperature-controlled transportation and distribution, from ambient to liquid nitrogen.
Our comprehensive portfolio of MHRA licenses gives API and bulk product manufacturers, the opportunity to access the UK marketplace through our extensive facilities in Bedford and Haverhill.
Partnered API and bulk product manufacturers from all over the world will benefit from our globally licensed supply chain services, as we continue to invest. Our established QMS manages the entire supply chain journey, from API manufacturing to finished product distribution, via routine audits and QP oversight.
The Supply Chain Process
As bulk product is received from the manufacturer to our fully licensed facilities, Central Pharma’s MIA, lists the number of analytical and micro testing laboratories who can perform the import testing for UK market batch certification. We can then fully assist and guide with the analytical method transfer activities.
All Central Pharma sites use a combination of manual and automated state-of-the-art machinery, following stringent procedures for precision blister packaging, bottle and tub filling, and sachet filling services.
All filling and packing processes are conducted in secure, clean, environments and are accurately labelled in accordance with strict QA procedures. Our AI camera detection systems, serialisation and aggregation at end of line, ensure the highest product quality. Completed batch records are meticulously examined, prior to the release of finished goods for storage and distribution.
The Bedford and Haverhill sites’ handling, warehousing and distribution of finished product is carried out safely and securely via Central Pharma’s meticulously controlled processes and procedures under the authority of their Wholesaler Dealers Authorisation licence.
Central Pharma sites adhere to Good Distribution Practice guidelines with operations passing regular GDP inspections for compliance.
All commercially licensed products manufactured or imported must be QP batch certified prior to market release and distribution. Central Pharma’s QPs at each site are highly skilled, available to release various dosage forms, including sterile, and are experienced in GMP and pharmaceutical quality management systems.
QP-certified finished product is shipped to wholesalers and distributors from Bedford and Haverhill in the UK. Shipping is managed by Central Pharma in the UK and is carried out by 3PL in the EU. Transport and logistics partners are approved and audited for licensed medicinal product and controlled substances.
Rising to the Challenges
Central Pharma’s mission is to control every element of the supply chain, to offer its customers a steady route to market with world-class services that get their products seamlessly from API and bulk manufacturers to patients and consumers. Achieving this goal requires ongoing investment to ensure supply chain adaptability and flexibility.
